Mapia Resort is located south of Manado along the Kalasey beach, approx. 20 minutes from town and 50 minutes from the airport. The resort is nestled in a large tropical garden with hibiscus, bougainvillea and orchid, shaded by coconut trees. The resort consists of 9 wooden cottages built in the traditional Minahasa style of North Sulawesi. Facilities include a restaurant, a bar, a spa, a swimming pool and of course our fully equipped dive center.
From the Mapia Resort most dives take place along the coast of the mainland. Most dive sites here are a “mix” of the Lembeh Strait and the Bunaken Marine Park. Some of the strangest and rarest creatures live on and in the black volcanic sand, including frogfishes in all colors, harlequin ghost pipefish and flamboyant cuttlefish, to name just a few. You may start your dive on black sand, spotting rare and bizarre critters and nudibranchs, before continuing your dive over a coral reef or along a small colorful wall.
Our house reef, just a few kicks with your fins from the shore, is home to a wide variety of critters and fishes and should not be missed for a relaxing afternoon dive or especially a night dive. Night dives with Blue Light are available!Module: Mapia Resort Manado
